Short Sales/Foreclosures

The downturn in the economy and the housing market has created a difficult situation for many home owners.  If you are having trouble staying current with your mortgage  you do have options and can avoid foreclosure.  The first thing to understand is that you probably have more time then you think.  MN is known as a redemption state meaning that once a bank forecloses on your home and the sheriff sale has occurred you still are the legal owner and can stay in the home for 6 months.  During that time you can work on still selling the home, often times thru a short sale (short sale is simply selling the home for less than what is owed in coordination and with permission from the bank.)  We are experienced in working with banks on negotiating short sales and this should be considered an option before giving up.  Contact us for a review of your situation and to find out if a short sale might be right for you.
